Prior to studying theology, Sivuyile worked in the food industry in the fields of Research and Development and Quality Assurance for four years.

In 2013, he became a pastor of a church in Langa township, Cape Town, where he continues to serve on the pastoral team.

His Masters dissertation compares the learning and teaching activities of women in Paul’s letters with those described in the Graeco-Roman philosophical texts.
