Phumezo was appointed to the faculty in 2016.

He has served as Rector of Christ Church Khayelitsha since 2009 and continues to supervise the ministry team there while lecturing in Church History and Practical Theology at GWC.

In his role as Dean of Students (Men), he offers pastoral support and guidance to students
